I have worked for the UCHealth system for over 17 years. They have no loyalty to those of us who have stayed and stuck beside the hospital for years. The executives get huge bonuses, and they're willing to pay new employees and travel nurses more than those of us who have been loyal to the company
What did you like most about the interview process?
I cant tell you more because I haven't interviewed in a long time being shot down for every job I've applied for.
What makes you most happy at work?
Most of the time its all my coworkers (housekeepers, techs, nurses, all the way up including most of the physicians) and my patients expressing their appreciation for the care that we give them.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Our unit is a very toxic environment as far as the surgical team that believes they know more than any other team or physician on the planet. Some of the things we do are borderline unethical and immoral, but when they make the hospital money, the hospital turns a blinds eye.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We work as a team and are there to support each other. I work with some of the most amazing people who have my back and are there to help support me to care for the team, but we are all overworked and understaffed making us have to rely on each other even more.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
The people who manage our funds are most likely out there to make money for themselves and not the people who they're suppose to be helping. I have made changes to my own funds that outperform theirs by a long way until they decide those funds are to be frozen or eliminated at random.
