Little opportunities to grow, department funding is comically low, HR is incompetent and allows hostility to go unchecked, pay raise/cost of living increase is constantly outpaced by inflation, c-suite more focused on expansion than reinvesting into the workforce.

Direct leadership is kind and accommodating when they are allowed to be.

My department is so small I can't interact with my coworkers regularly.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
De-emphasize expansion, stop making every leadership position a director, reinvest in team leads, supervisors, and the average worker.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Exceptional effort isn't recognized, so mediocrity is encouraged. I can barely afford cost of living in my area, and we are stonewalled to progress within the company. I would feel better about my compensation if I had more coworkers sharing the load.
