What did you like most about the interview process? The search committee and that I had a friend working in my department
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?Ability to be who I am without fear.
What do you like best about the leadership team?Open and honest about things.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved? The University lives in a bubble. It does not consider the neighboring towns and cities as part of its community. ENGAGE, RECRUIT IN POOR AND RURAL PLACES. Give the community credit for their contributions.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?I have received outside offers from other universities and my School refuses to even match their salary. We have lost at least 11 faculty in the last four years in my School alone. If you value your faculty RETAIN them.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?Executing initiative. Listening to faculty and students' needs. Paying the staff a living wage so that students and faculty can focus on the intellectual work. Learning from other universities how the work is done.
