New leadership in the last few years that are trying to update and change to bring efficiency to the university. Needed in higher ed and we're on the right path, but can cause obstacles too.
They listen and follow up.
Our leadership values the effort that our team puts into our work, and our input/insight on issues that effect our work.
The leadership team wants to hear ideas and feedback.

Management is very responsive to problems/issues.

Actually understanding what the bottom tier of employers have to go through to do their jobs. Actually become qualified for their positions. Stop ignoring the bottom tier when they loudly point out issues. Stop being entitled, uninformed bourgeois.
It was the healthcare + retirement packages, but to save money, the uni. is planning on cutting those back too. There really won't be a good reason to for such low wages anymore. The uni. Fidelity rep told me to leave 5 yrs ago because I was never going to be able to retire, even with 10% matching.
The retirement matching - although that is actually being dismantled, so it isn't a perk for long.
Education benefits and tuition remission.
UNH offers a 401 employer match
The retirement savings are the best I have seen.

I have worked for two teams - one horrible and cliquey, the other pretty great. My great team members have all left. Good team members have been smart, empathetic, ready for challenges, but these are rare. Most of the staff/faculty have gray clouds surrounding them and look for a fight and/or gossip
Dedication to mission, strategic objectives, and student outcomes.
our team has great collaboration.
We work together to share best practices and resources, it is a team-minded group.

The most positive is idea generation and the ability to mentor my co-workers to help them be successful.
People are friendly and helpful. They genuinely want to help.
Higher wages will attract quality candidates and performers. The mediocre wages currently attract mediocre talent. Good talent leaves, and mediocre staff have been promoted to manager positions. Perhaps more restructuring of the departments to get unskilled managers out?
It's very casual. They like to have you meet the team, which gives you an insight on who you will be working with.
It is an average process, it is unremarkable.
The recruiters! The recruiting team is very professional, they made me feel like part of the team, even before I was hired.
good phone interview process - a lot of information provided to the candidate upfront.
The quick follow-up from the hiring manager.

Review from HR Dept
My co-worker as we work very closely and have a great dynamic.
Teamwork and sense of humor of those I interact with.
Unpaid, overworked, underemployed bottom tier of employees. Top tier and middle tier doesn't listen, is unqualified for their positions. The university embraces mediocrity and promotes to the leadership level, pushing the bright and qualified out.
