I began my career at velex as a foreman running tower crews. I worked my way to a CS position and then was offered the opportunity to become an Ops manager.
What makes you most happy at work?
completing a task or helping someone succeed
What do you like best about the leadership team?
They set goals or tasks and allow us to achieve them our own way. I don't feel micro managed here, which I love
What are some of the best things about your team?
The team i have now seems to all want to work as a team. Ive seen other markets where its almost a battle between the companies within the organization.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
That you are only held by your own drive. I began here as a foreman, now am an operations manager. I love the opportunity here you can gain by hard work.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Its a very competitive industry and world right now. Many colleges at other companies are being paid more for a lower responsibility title. I think the bonus structure could be worked on or other incentives we could earn could help this. Im not going anywhere, just wish we had a bit more :)
