
Discovering the talent already within the organization, before going outside of it for new hires.
I know that my pay is below market rate. Being at least at market rate would make me feel better.
There should be more visible appreciation and respect of ALL employees. Not just a select few that management has deemed appreciation/respect-worthy.
It is almost non-existent once one is in the company. Being considered for a different role or level, or even having one's interest acknowledged doesn't seem to be the norm. Imo, best practices consider current employees before even posting positions externally.
"Culture" doesn't have to be a big gesture. One that begins with a simple greeting to one another when passing in the hallways (no matter position or familiarity), would be a great practice. It's unfortunate that this even need be said. It should be automatic and more prevalent, but it isn't.
