Homework assignment and presentation content forced deep conversations vs. surface-level "tell me about your experience".
What is the best part about your compensation package?
Its structured enough that as a manager I have boundaries to control expectations of people I lead. That being said, when necessary it can be flexible.
What makes you most happy at work?
Being motivated by mastering my craft, taking autonomy for meaty objectives, and driving towards an aligned purpose. And yes, I stole that from Daniel Pink.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
No leader will ever have everything sorted. What's important is the values they *practive* every day. Our leaders care deeply that everyone's opinion on where/how we focus and grow is heard. They also practice complete candor; most notably when surfacing their own areas of weakness.
