What do you like best about the leadership team?

Nothing -- district mgr only threatens, never inspires or provides leadership

They leave the store manager and employees alone to do our jobs. But they don't seem to want to invest in hiring or retaining good employees. Hiring budget is minimal, no product training provided, payroll constantly being cut. It's not sustainable.

Only good thing about them is that I don't see them.

That they are available to assist and mentor

My SM was amazing. DM Lizzy Mae Kerr does not know how to treat or develop people. Frustrating to lose people to poor leadership. I know because this was PT job for me. Had my own company until I retired.

Seems like reasonable guys the GM has only been the GM a few weeks

West Marine has recently been bought by a group of actual boaters. People who know what boaters want and need. This has put the company in the place it needs to be to give boaters what they want from well trained staff.

Knowing the company, the customer, and the culture as well as understanding current processes before making changes that cannot be successful or effective.

They need to understand that some people have issues and they can't go to the doctor for every little pain.
