Winn Dixie Stores – It was a definite evolution. Starting from the bottom, back when the staff was more professional, to proving myself working my way up the ladder thru to the cash office & to the pharmacy. Things have changed greatly & hastily. Overall, I wouldn't take it back, but I feel sad for now & the future. | Comparably

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

The turnover is abundant. Everyday is its own struggle and everyday you're basically just re-training over and over, while still trying to get your job done efficiently and take care of the customers and give them the level of service that you know is right.

What do you like best about your company?

Helping the patients and customers. Trying to give them all a personable, valuable, positive experience. Each and every one I encounter. Saving them money using discount cards when they have no insurance. Doing whatever I can for THEM, because likewise, it does something special for me.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Treat your employees, especially your most loyal ones, with a high level of value & be compensated accordingly. Not pushed & pushed to unrealistic expectations, without any positive feedback, awareness/care, or compensation. Don't offer your most loyal employees severance or a drop in pay & to PT.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

I worked there for a number of years. Was highly known & liked by many customers & coworkers. Generally, the employees were good to work with. The company itself feels in disarray & anything to cut corners. Including laying off many, not allowing 2week notice fulfillment, general apathetic mentality

What would you most like to see improved at your company?

Appropriate staffing, better customer service by many I see around me. I don't like hearing or seeing anyone with a negative impression when they are in or are leaving the store. We need more professionalism, better customer service skills, & appropriate people to do their jobs & excel at them.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

You know as you're going to work it's going to be a chaotic day, filled with customers upset about their wait times, prescriptions not ready, the line around the corner, being understaffed and overstimulated. Trying to work at 110% level, with accuracy, & great customer service for 12 hours non-stop

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

The harder you work, the more is added onto you. Without any new compensation, a pat on the back. Just push until you can't do it anymore. Get offered severance within <24 hours or lose your Full Time and benefits and have your pay cut. Winn-Dixie's "values" are ironically, unpracticed. 100%.

What did you like most about the interview process?

Considering the constant turn-around, it's a lot easier to get a job there now vs. years ago when I first applied. There was more to it. It still felt rushed back then. Nowadays, you walk in & they hand you a red shirt & throw you in there. I had a good interviewing manager himself, was my positive.
