Managers should be in their positions, because they are qualified to do that job. People have bounced around between departments and been given titles, because they are a current employee. Sometimes it is better to hire from outside for positions if there isn't an internal fit.

I am fairly new to the company and I am already burnt out. The expectation is that you work all the time. Working after hours and on weekends is praised instead of discouraged. Everyone works over the weekends to catch up on stuff that couldn't be completed.

Being underpaid means I spend time worrying about money. I feel bad when I see others who have worked here longer buy houses and generally have more money, whereas I am living paycheck to paycheck sometimes. Also, culture needs to be action not just words, so take action on culture faster.
