OUR ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT IS ALIVE AND WELL We'll try just about anything once. This entrepreneurial spirit is how Columbia Hospitality got its start. As a trusted partner of the Port of Seattle, having planned and executed many events for them, they asked Columbia CEO and Founder, John Oppenheimer, if he knew anyone who would be a good operator for the soon-to-be-built Bell Harbor International Conference Center. Having no management experience, naturally, John said, “Yes, US!” When asked why, his response was, “Because we’ve never done it before, but no one knows what your clients want better than us!” We got the job, and we still have that job decades later. leer más

Columbia Hospitality Compensation Employee Reviews

¿Cuál es la mejor parte de su paquete de compensación?

Columbia Hospitality thinks outside the box when providing benefits. There are the regular benefits like health insurance, 401K, Incentives... but they also do a great job providing access to other benefits like gym memberships, pet insurance, discounts on hotel stays and much more.

¿Por qué te sientes infravalorado y qué te haría sentir mejor con respecto a tu compensación?

We are never given reviews, managers rarely talk to us other than to complain. As for compensation, a raise is needed every position, the list of tasks that we do grows daily but not our pay.

Not paying all managers the same.

More salary transparency throughout the company and more standardization around merit increase.

Believe in your own values. Treat everyone even the team members that are below you with care and appreciation. The higher ups never talk to workers. I can be let go to lack of knowledge on your end. I see it time and time again here

I feel undervalued because ive been told many times how great i am but i am not wver rewarded or even thanked or appreciated. Our gm plays favorites and loves other privledged people but looks down on anyone else

Revisión Review del Departamento de Operaciones · Publicado hace 2 años

better benefits, opportunity for growth, higher pay than minimum state requirements for salary managers

I worked 3-4 positions and was paid for 1 at 15hr considering I was running the front desk, cleaning and inspecting rooms, laundry, and grounds 17-18hr would have been appropriate

Revisión Review del Departamento de Atención al Cliente · Publicado hace 3 años

I don't necessarily feel undervalued, however in this economy the highest "compensation" to ever make me or people feel good is money. I would like to afford regular things such as a car and a house, to not be able to does make me feel undervalued. Maybe not by columbia hospitality but in society.

Most Front desk agents in California make anywhere from 18-20$ an hour... I've been at PMR for a couple of years now and have recieved a "raise" once. Management says its because we get incentives. Incentives aren't like tips. Also being "full time" and no one having full time hours is a bummer

Revisión Review del Departamento de Operaciones · Publicado hace 3 años

As a whole not as an individual.i believe with today's economic standing and they work we do at our hotel we are definitely under paid especially with omg standards we uphold daily.yes I believe we all deserve raises.

Response from Columbia Hospitality

At Columbia Hospitality, we are committed to reviewing and aligning our compensation packages with industry standards and economic conditions. Please rest assured that your concerns are on our radar, and we are actively working on ways to enhance.

I feel I'm doing 2 jobs for the price of one.

Revisión Review del Departamento de Customer Success · Publicado hace 3 años

I feel overworked, underpaid, and underappreciated. I would love a four-day work week/summer Friday schedule, unlimited PTO, and better hospitality perks that I could actually take advantage of with adequate time off.

It's hard to understand how CH won "Best Company For Women" without offering paid maternity leave.

Tips should be given to each emploeyee not equalled. And it shouldnt be taxed. We dont get paud enough and shouldnt have to get taxed on top of our tips.

My wage has not been consistent with inflation. Also, the tipshare distribution could use a review.

Revisión Review del Departamento de Ventas · Publicado hace 3 años

At Columbia hospitality, we strive for five star hospitality. We want our guest to come in and feel special, meanwhile I'm getting paid a lot less than what I feel I bring to the table.

Revisión Review del Departamento de Ventas · Publicado hace 3 años

Pay increases to offset inflation and to reward high performance. More affordable healthcare options with fitness/well being benefits.

Revisión Review del Departamento de Ventas · Publicado hace 4 años

Coming back from COVID, the management roles are now very redefined. As a front office manager, I wear a lot of hats and do more than a standard FOM would do before COVID in my opinion. However, I am not paid any differently for extra responsibilities. It is the art of simply "paying my dues"
