Communication equipment at our facility is terrible. Operators have 1 radio between 3 people. Info never trickles down from our management. We are kept in the dark like mushrooms.
It seems that our current leadership understands business, but has forgotten how to do the "Tire" business. So much about cutting cost and labor and introducing systems into our plant that may have worked in a different industry, but have no real effect in ours.
Going to work under manned and having broken down equipment is extremely tiresome. You try explain this to staff and management only to be given catch words and buzz phrases. It's very frustrating. Safety is supposed to be paramount. However, it is second to production needs daily.
We have purchased a lot of brand new equipment in our area. It is fantastic when it works. We have no maintenance staff that knows how to fix or repair the new technology we have that will make our plant competitive again. We also have to learn that Quality begins in the Tire Room, not in FF.
