I am paid well and I do receive raises when I feel they are due.
The leadership team shows commitment and passion for our business. That motivates me to work toward the vision that they are laying out, because I can see that it is real and that they are working hard to accomplish it.
The members of my team mostly enjoy their job. I do believe that some of them are trying to get by with doing the minimum that is required, but there is not an overwhelmingly negative attitude - they seem mostly content.
I'm an SE and we traditionally had an annual seminar that would last 2-3 days. I really looked forward to just being together and learning together and getting to talk to managers. We used to have occasional team outings to some recreational event as well, which were also great.
I am customer-facing and our clients typically have a terrible attitude. I think they consider it a basis for stronger negotiations to always frame NWN in the worst possible light. I don't engage with that attitude and stay focused on doing my very best to help them, which I am passionate about.
