The leadership team above my manager were all "yes" people and did not fight for their people when it came to HP dismantling productive teams to further their bottom line. Dave Packard would have fired them all if he were still alive.

They did away with pensions in the late 1990s and went with the industry typical. Since the new norm is to outmode and phase out job descriptions, it really doesn't matter whether there's retirement. With the laughable so-called "affordable" medical care, no one is satisfied with their "benefits".
