The DC does a background, drug test, and you have to go for a physical before you start. I'm not sure about the retail side of it though

Depends on who likes you and who doesn't
Not so much anymore. Lately bringing untrained help in from outside company. Stores falling apart.
As often as they demote and fire team leaders. Often. They often hire off streets as of lately too.

Who they like, regardless of intelligence or rule following. It's a popularity contest. You can be the best and it won't matter. Suck up enough and you may get promoted to a mediocre management position that will kill your soul

There is no balance. Meijer expects you to live for them.
