Q&A With Old Navy Employees

  • For starters the managers can hire more than high schoolers. I’m in my mid twenties having to pick up all the slack because they don’t discipline them but will put all the work and pressure on me. They also refuse to hire more full time probably because it means less money for them. And don’t get me started with all the pressure for us to get credit cards but we get nothing from it. All the commission go to the managers. If you’re looking for a place just to earn a little extra cash then this is the job. But if you’re trying to make a living you’ll have better luck somewhere else.

  • Better communication from management and employees

  • At my store, it's very laid back and I don't enjoy that. Our old General Store Manager went up to corporate recently and since the new GM took over, our store has been depreciating in sales and the quality of work done. Some stores may be different but I feel, as of right now, our current managers need to step up their game to make it a better place for the customers as well as the employees. In terms of how the store is run, it's moderately paced, some busy times (especially on the weekends, Fridays, and week evenings) but very slow during the week days as (as expected). Constant under-staffing and call-outs really stress out the employees and should be changed before anything bad happens. It's really beginning to look bad in terms of customer service and the mobiles definitely should have been thought out more before being implemented as much as they are in the stores currently. Overall, co-workers are great (the only reason I'm willing to stay) and the work is relatively easy.
