
Work is good and challenging, what lacks are employee empowerment and reward systems.

Better distribution of tasks and employee empowerment
They can be taught how to do things
Compensation should be aligned with the market rates
Work as a team and listen to ideas being shared
There should be some activities apart from work. There used to be some happy hour or some sort of activity in the dept but it's gone now.
Length of services should be considered in determining salary, it seems that new hires and experience employees are just at par in terms of salary; there should be annual review of salary and merit increase
