Current sales associate here. Selling requires the ability to hold a conversation, ask questions in a manner that creates the opportunity to discover their needs, and the professionalism to be authentic. Product knowledge is key here - one of the things Sears had over everyone else is that our associates are trained to actually know their department. Sales cycles are weekly, but some sales will be continued week after week with minimal changes to the structure. Overall, if you can keep yourself busy you'll have no issue selling and being profitable.
The products are easy to sell however the extended warranties are we’re all the emphasis is you can sell all the products you want you won’t make any money unless you sell extended warranties
