This company has been pretty good to me, but I feel that management could really use a little motivation to care and show respect to their subordinates. I do like the flexible hours, though. They respected the fact that I was going to school.
What makes you most happy at work?
Other cashiers and members of other departments within the store. I really like how I interact with my coworkers. We feel like we're friends.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The other employees, the other cashiers are my main motivator. They seem to really care about me, and I care about them. We work well together.
What did you like most about the interview process?
I like how everything was done officially and by the book, but it was also handled fairly casually by our assistant customer service manager. It didn't feel so much like an interview.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I like that most of the time, we are friendly with one another, but I don't like how some managers act. They let the power go to their head and yell at you.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We get along together well, and we pick up the slack when someone needs to take a break for a few moments. We care about each other, but I don't feel the same way about managers.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I feel that I am extremely undervalued. I feel like management doesn't care whether I, personally, show up. Sure, they'd notice a hole in how quickly the lines at the register go, but they don't care about me as a person. I's suggest going beyond the bottom line of profits and care about the person.
