Akin to scuba diving, going deep fast into unfamiliar subjects with little reference, just following the training plan as a lifeline. Sometimes it is scary, but then I am reminded I have a full suit, and a team supporting me. I just need to talk and look at how far we've gone. Then it's exhilarating
What is the best part about your compensation package?
The pay for now, and the health benefits. I haven't used them much, but the low deductible helps a lot.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
The openness. I do not have a lot of interaction with them yet, but everyone is approachable, knowledgeable, and willing to help if asked a question.
What are some of the best things about your team?
They're responsive, and willing to engage in some small talk after primary questions have been responded to. We have had just a few team events, but I have a feeling for who is around me after only 4-5 months that took much longer elsewhere to establish.
What makes you most happy at work?
Seeing tasks come to fruition that felt nebulous and distant at first. Especially if there was input from others I didn't consider before, but was implemented. It feels like the work is meaningful, and collaborative, and better than I could have done alone. That is a good feeling.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
An acceptance that mistakes happen, and a strong focus on improvement. If there's a surprise in a process, there's no dressing down of how it was missed, just a focus on how to incorporate what happened going forward. It keeps pressure low, and makes it easier to ask for help.
