Overnight staff may not deal with the kids as day staff does but we are also expected to work Overnight and be available for daytime trainings directly after our shift. There is little training that pertains to what the Overnight staff is required to do.

I feel that staff should be paid more for staying and there should be more benefits for retention. Pay the ones whk stay and not leave after a week.

I feel expected to do multiple people's jobs.

What are some of the best things about your team?

Team Reviews

We all work very well together and are supportive of each other. Our Unit Director is supportive and is always available if we have questions.

I work with funny people

There a few who actually care about the kids and treat them all fairly no matter why they are there.

We communicate and set expectations amongst each other

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

They need to improve on their communication towards youth and also how they present themselves. They need to keep their attitudes out of conversation

We're currently building a new staff team and new hires have struggled to take an interest in the job and the kids.

More training, and requirements need to be raised for working in this field. Lack of knowledge, experience and overall understanding of the job.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Our staff team is supportive of each other and we are willing to help one another when we have questions. We rely on each other's strengths to complete our daily tasks and responsibilities.

The youth are the most positive

Anyone is able to work here.

Better pay and more time off

Hold slackers accountable and actively work on having them improve instead of letting them drag the rest of the team and program down. Not waiting until it becomes so bad that they are just fired.

Reduce the separation of higher management, better understanding of how situations actually are within their programs.

What makes you most happy at work?

Outlook Reviews

I have a great Unit Director who is supportive and who is always willing to listen if any member of our team has concerns. It is also rewarding when the youth in our care make progress in their treatment and are able to be successfully discharged from the program.

i really don't know its one day at a time

Overnight staff needs to be trained better when they first arrive. Basic training does not show overnight staff anything that their job requires. Also requiring daytime training directly after overnight shifts is not fair or safe for those employees.

Based on circumstances that are allegedly out of our controller, alot of the houses end up getting clients that are more street oriented and aggressive. These are clients that probably better served at more stringent facilities and not group homes. These clients greatly effect the experience

Reduce the size of the company. As a whole there has been a staffing crisis for years, while some programs have been closed there needs to be more. Combined programs, make full staff teams to reduce burn out.
