How challenged are you at American Heart Association?
The work was not difficult. The amount was overwhelming.
How difficult is it to maintain a social life while in your job at American Heart Association?
Very difficult.
How do you feel about going to work at American Heart Association everyday?
Overwhelmed. Way too much work for the hours it had to be done in.
How's the feedback proccess at American Heart Association?
Pointless. I knew several people who went to HR with very valid complaints or feedback about other staff that went unanswered or was swept under the rug. Made for a near hostile work environment when you report things and are told there is nothing that can be done about it.
What's the best part of your job at American Heart Association?
Knowing I was working toward a mission that I truly believed in.
How can I improve my chances of being hired at American Heart Association?
Proven sales record. Very outgoing.
How secure do you feel at your job at American Heart Association?
Reasonably. I did a good job, but I watched many, many people leave or be fired who I felt did a good job as well.
What kind of people succeed at American Heart Association?
Outgoing folks who have few responsibilities outside of work.
What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining American Heart Association?
How little upper management cared about the mission, and was focused only on donor dollars as they affected their bonus.

Very little diversity.
How's the morale at American Heart Association?
Most staff is very overwhelmed and overworked. Still, the morale is decent and most staff works above and beyond to help each other out.
What unique perks and benefits does American Heart Association provide?
With management approval, the ability to work remotely as needed.
What's the office layout like at American Heart Association?
Large, open office space with 70+ cubicles. Executive offices around perimeter.
How's the vacation policy at American Heart Association?
Excellent. The entire AHA shuts down for winter break for over a week in December, and you are allowed a generous vacation policy on top of that.
How's the work life balance at American Heart Association?
Work life balance was not as expected--or as the mission itself proclaims it will be. We are told that the work week will be 37.5 hours, yet most employees work 50+. My experience was one of nonstop emails on weekends and PTO days with demands for quick replies.
