What did you like most about the interview process? My interviewers were very nice and it was formal but not as hard on the pressure and anxiety you feel during such formal interviews
What makes you most happy at work?Feeling like I am making a difference and part of a team
What are some of the best things about your team?My team is very smart and work well together everyone is very professional
What's going wrong and how can it be improved? It is very difficult to grow and people are promoted maybe after staying more than 10 years in the company. The leadership in network services are actually engineers promoted as managers. In fact they shouldn’t have been promoted as managers as they are not very people oriented.
What needs to change to make the company culture better? The IS leadership has major trust issues and would not give work to anyone they do not trust. Also the lack of communication from senior IS leadership was frustrating. There is no training provided by the company and they expect you to complete projects with technology that no one has any idea.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?The IT department has a top/down mentality and more like a parent/child relationship and this mentality comes from the very top management in IS. The two people that drives this kind of culture is the CIO and the Director of Infrastructure Services. This mentality of the management prohibits growth.
