The positivity comes from my students. They are the reason I am there and enjoy going to work. The parents of my students are a close second.
Our manager is an outside hire and is not completely familiar with all policies and procedures. Her communication skills towards employees is lacking. She is very secretive about information that staff should be informed of. She speaks to employees as if they are her own children.
The manager claims to only hire "the best" teachers, but I am regularly disappointed when we hire another person who lacks professionalism, and who doesn't want to follow policies, or who don't want to do the job they were hired to do. We need to hire professionals.
I am a lead infant teacher at Bright Horizons and I make just $13/hr. There is a 1:4 ratio of teachers to children and we are doing important and labor intensive work. The low pay rate does not justify all we do everyday to help raise and teach young children.
