Build-A-Bear Workshop Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

The bonus because that's what pays my rent..

There are good bonus opportunities and benefits.

Affordability and choice of benefits packages.

Review from Sales Dept

The paid time off policy is very generous.

The option for medical covergae

Review from Sales Dept

The best part is money and paid time off.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

The issue is that lack of autonomy makes every position worth about minimum wage. It also invites hiring the lowest quality people because that's what their skills are usually worth. So being an employee who works and has a functioning brain feels punishing as if the company wants them to leave.

I feel completely undervalued as an employee. Management and others do not talk to me unless to harass and make me feel incompetent. I have tried to discuss this with her, but she does not acknowledge my concerns.

Currently a manager talked to other stores in mall they make almost $10 hour more than me as an out of high school candidate than I do with multiple degrees and years of experience when asking for a raise im told I already make too much when they hire on new employees for more

More money. But even if just the sales associates and assistant managers got paid more, I'd be happier, because then we'd be able to retain people. When people stop showing up or quit because they got a better paying job, its the managers who are forced to work overtime to keep the store operating

Getting paid to match my responsibility

Associated and managers are underpaid and deserve more compensation for the effort this job requires

An investigation towards the store manager and better pay and consideration for all employees

We recieve 0 benefits and are paid minimum wage

Zero room for growth. Benefitd take too much of my gross income.

If we were paid competitively, the work effort required would be worth it

No hr to contact really fustrating

I am extremely undervalued. I have never once done anything wrong at work, I am always on time and work hard but i make less than everyone else here, and the least I deserve is an apology from my assistant manager for calling me lazy and stupid. I got no apology when i confronted her.

If your minimum age requirment is 18, you should be paying your employees a living wage.

Don't mind the pay for the job description- but unfair treatment= never enough pay for that

Review from Sales Dept

the pay is horrible especially for sales leads it’s a joke. the hours are horrible they make no sense. i no longer work here thank god but when i did my manager was a creep and a horrible boss

Review from Sales Dept

Our CWM makes $10+ an hour more than any other employee, overworks her team, ignoring day off requests after approving them, ignoring weekly work hour limitations, and speaks to the team rudely. A leader that embodied BABW's core values would raise team moral and soothe other issues.

Review from Sales Dept

Yes. The 3 years I worked there I was only given 1 eval! They took away the sales lead benefits!

Review from Sales Dept

Better pay and benefits. We should make much more than minimum wage.
