Builders FirstSource Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

It's competitive and offers a range of choices and company sponsored programs

Review from Finance Dept · Posted 8 days ago

The health insurance is really good.

Review from Sales Dept · Posted 10 days ago

health insurance is reasonably priced.

Review from Sales Dept · Posted 15 days ago

The base salary paired with the vehicle allowance. Truly great things to have as an outside salesperson.

Review from Sales Dept · Posted 18 days ago

What I value most is the combination of compensation and growth opportunity. The package rewards performance, but also supports long-term development, which is important to me.

Review from Customer Success Dept · Posted 18 days ago

The bonus structure pushes growth and reward accordingly.

Review from Design Dept · Posted 18 days ago

The pay is pretty good for the market here.

Review from Sales Dept · Posted 19 days ago

I would have to say the health insurance.

Review from Sales Dept · Posted 20 days ago

I can't really choose what is the best - it is a really good package on the whole

Review from Design Dept · Posted 22 days ago

Probably the health care and vacation

Review from Operations Dept · Posted 22 days ago

paid time off for vacation

Review from Engineering Dept · Posted 22 days ago

There are so many perks, its hard to describe.

Review from Design Dept · Posted 22 days ago

401K and life and Health Insurance.

Review from Design Dept · Posted 22 days ago

Health and Dental Insurance Plan

Review from Sales Dept · Posted 22 days ago

The amount of vacation time accrued. The longer time employed, the more time you get to off and enjoy your interest away from work.

Review from Sales Dept · Posted 22 days ago

The flexible work arrangement and 401k matching.

Review from Admin Dept · Posted 22 days ago

Retirement benefits and investments that we have.

Review from Design Dept · Posted 22 days ago

responsible time away for time off

Review from Admin Dept · Posted 22 days ago

I have healthcare through work that is affordable.

Review from IT Dept · Posted 22 days ago

Best part of my compensation package would be health coverage and pto to balance out work and personal life.

Review from Product Dept · Posted 23 days ago

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

I work for the market and not a specific location. I do not believe the bonus pool is shared in the best way.

Review from Admin Dept · Posted 10 days ago

I feel like I'm only valued when they need me and sometimes, they ask you to do too much. I feel like I'm just the fill in. I feel like they discriminate against gender here. If there was better recognition and a little bit higher pay the job might be worth considering

Review from Product Dept · Posted 18 days ago

the vehicle reimbursements program is severely lacking. Competitor are offering double to monthly allotment and much better milage. Also, basing this off a mid-sized SUV is wrong. Any good lumber/door salesman should be driving a truck. Company trucks were the best option for customer service.

Review from Sales Dept · Posted 19 days ago

Not only to be paid based on my peers - folks in similar but to have merit-based pay (I am a woman and yes, I am going there) Not just an everyone gets the same thing. You do a good job - your raise reflects that. There should be an incentive for folks who report in daily (not work remotely).

Review from Operations Dept · Posted 19 days ago

The pay is lower than someone with my qualifications should be making, the raises are so tiny they are barely even noticeable, and you must wait a full year to get a raise, regardless of circumstances or progress made over the first few months. VERY frustrating because that locks you into low pay.

Review from Sales Dept · Posted 22 days ago

Better yearly pay increases that are actually based on performance.

Review from Operations Dept · Posted 22 days ago

The benefits are great but the pay could be better. Current raises were no where near enough to keep up with inflation.

Review from Finance Dept · Posted 22 days ago

I do not feel undervalued.

Review from Operations Dept · Posted 22 days ago

More than a .50 cents an hour raise

Review from Design Dept · Posted 22 days ago

I was not hired for what I wanted and I was told I would get there and yet 1 later I am not!

Review from Sales Dept · Posted 22 days ago

The number of workload-sales that is completed/done does not represent the compensation that should be provided.

Review from Sales Dept · Posted 22 days ago

Never know when you will be paid

Review from Sales Dept · Posted 22 days ago

I love my job and everything involved. I do the work of four different people. A better pay raise would have been fair.

Review from Operations Dept · Posted 22 days ago

Better pay for the many jobs that I do

Review from Design Dept · Posted 22 days ago

I feek very confident in what i do and have no feeling of being undervalued.

Review from Sales Dept · Posted 23 days ago

My responsibilities do not align with the title I have been given, whether due to compensation structure or other factors I may not be aware of.

Review from Sales Dept · Posted 23 days ago

I do and know way to much for what i get paid

Review from Operations Dept · Posted 23 days ago

Obviously, the standard answer is pay. I also would like to see HSA matching contributions

Review from Operations Dept

The fact of new hires coming in at a much greater salary than a seasoned employee (5+ years) and even when it comes to yearly reviews the management doesn't make any adjustments for it. It's given as an across the board percent increase so I will never catch up to their pay.

Review from Admin Dept

A lot is expected in my position, and I don't feel the compensation is equivalent to the local market
