How's the work life balance at Calabrio?
It depends on your manager - some are good at keeping work and life separate, but some RND managers constantly ask for work after hours, or send messages in the evening that are expected to be responded to (when you're not on call) immediately. Working longer hours is encouraged, and some senior management seem to be of the opinion that you cannot work unless you're at your desk.
For the most part, its about average. Key is that if you do not speak up; the expectation is that you are always ready for more work.

What's the office vibe like at Calabrio?
Depends on where you are - if you're in RND, it's still a bit of a masculine/bro environment, though there are efforts to change this right now.
With an open concept office, its pretty easy to connect with whomever you need to. There are few (if any) barriers (physical or otherwise) between teams. Especially at the single contributor level, its very easy to collaborate and address tasks at hand.

What should I wear for an interview at Calabrio?
Business Formal
A full suit is not necessary, though it will make you look better. Wear business clothing - slacks or knee length skirt for women.
How much and how often do raises happen at Calabrio?

Those who are "favored" get minor raises (less than 5%), those who aren't do not get any raises.
Annual raises, but that's about it. Less than 5%.
How's the morale at Calabrio?
Very bad. Everyone is looking over their shoulders waiting to see who is going to be blamed next for upper management's mistakes.
In RND, the mood is generally pessimistic on most days.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Calabrio?
Have a returned focus on Accountability. It use to mean that you took responsibility for identifying and addressing challenge. Now its a matter of the blame game and who can be help responsible so everyone can dog pile them.

Never known anyone to be laid off. Just let go for reason with out warning or prior coaching.

"Culture" oriented questions, product specific questions to gauge domain expertise, and questions around Prod Mgmt (Pragmatic Marketing) best practices and approaches.

Attempts at judging whether or not the candidate will fit in with the "culture" and various skill orient questions and/or homework.
What benefits does Calabrio provide?
Basic benefits: PTO (2 wks to start), good medical/dental, student loan repayment assistance, and 401K (no company match).
How are the managers at Calabrio?
Depends on the manager. Some actually try to help their employees and provide them opportunities to succeed. Other ignore them until its time for a scape goat and then fire them rather than take the blame for their managerial failings.
What does the ideal candidate in the Product department look like at Calabrio?
A "yes man" who doesn't ask hard questions.
How helpful was your Product team when you were first hired at Calabrio?
Not very. The product team is unresponsive for the most part and doesn't really listen to the field.

Yes
What's the internship program like at Calabrio?
Depends on the department. Loved being an intern in Marketing, but heard horror stories for other departments.
How does Calabrio handle HR issues?
Sweeping them under the rug or firing the person that caused the issue.
How innovative is Calabrio?
Use to be very innovative, now - not so much.
Why work for Calabrio?
Can't think of any reason to work there.
What's the work from home policy like at Calabrio?
The company doesn't support a work from home policy. In fact, remote employees (non-Minnesota) are treated like 2nd class citizens. This includes treating their Vancouver employees as "not real Calabrio" employees.
What's the best part of your job at Calabrio?
My coworkers. They're generally great people.
How's the work pace at Calabrio?
The speed of our development is slowing down - from breakneck to a mere gallop.
How do you feel about going to work at Calabrio everyday?
Depends on the day. My coworkers are Great! But great coworkers can't fix everything.
