The attitude for this company is based on sales, from enrollment to graduation. The idea for a learning environment is clouded with the force of wanting to gain profits from the students. We are disservicing the students because CC cares more about them passing so that CC can make more money.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
Though I took a pay cut to work here, I understand that I am paid more than some. So I can see that management tried to compensate me for my coming on board.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The people I work with and the students I interact with. The reason any of us get into education is the difference we want to make to those who were just like us when we started our careers.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
MACRO-MANAGING is the biggest issue at this college due to certain managers (and want to be managers) creating issues and pushing members to complete redundant tasks. Disconnection between senior leadership and employees is very apparent. Lack of understanding and empathy toward employees.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My other teammates and colleagues all share a passion to do their job, What they do not like is the pressures of the job and scrutiny from those in management position. Ive seen members in literal tears due to stress of performance. This is not a quality business, its quantity.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Seeing their employees as human beings and not only as producers. We are in the business of education for profit and all to often "profit" is the only thing we hear from up high. Sure the town meetings preach family, but it does not feel like family when you are seeing members walked out.
