Great office with several nice areas for relaxation or play, including a pickle ball court, a quiet library, a faux outdoor area with fake grass, chairs and skylights, ping-pong and Foosball. Foodsby food delivery for lunch.
Full health, dental, and vision - with 100% of employee's health premiums paid by the company. There are multiple plans available, covering high deductible, low deductible, PPO, HSA, etc. We also get inexpensive life insurance and short term disability... with the option to buy inexpensive long term disability as well. You can even purchase life insurance on your child, which is a rare option. Finally, we issue a FitBit to every employee

It starts with the people, favoritisms should not be allowed and freedom for people to pick on you should be banned. The reviews about working in some places are very very accurate about management lacking professionalism. The rudeness is definitely true. Maybe focusing on an ability test for character would be good like other major corporations do to make sure you are hiring the right people for the role.

Normal
Not salaried unless you are the 3 main manager.
I get paid at 16 which is super low compared to the cost of leaving in New England area
How hard is it to get promoted at Carvana?
It's easy if you know the right person. It doesn't matter about experience, education, seniority.

At my hub it is really hard because they already have the 4 operations manager
What's the office vibe like at Carvana?
50/50 depends of the manager
Qwiet and come back to work on time for job change and then we can go from there job and come back again
Fun but busy. Very social. Some of the smartest people in the country work here.

What's the interview process like at Carvana?
Easy as long as the manager(s) like you, like most small jobs are.
Suck, it takes forever to get hired from the time you get the interview
There are at least 3 steps. First a culture screen with a recruiter, and then a phone screen with the hiring manager. And if those go well, then candidates are brought to HQ for an on-site interview with multiple people on the hiring team. Questions are meant to review skill aptitude, culture fit, and corporate behavior.
How's the work life balance at Carvana?
Good
4-10 hour shifts scheduled ( typically you will work 6-8 hours), 3 days off
It's great about 90% of the time. When we are slammed and working late the other 10%, that is only when a specific deadline is in place.

It sucks to be honest, you have to buy your own uniform, they give you a 150 dollars credit to buy uniform from them and whenever you order 60% are out of stuck so you have to go out and get it out of your pocket..! And they’re to strict about uniform for no reason, provide a full uniform then be strict..!

Definitely IMPROVE on hiring the right managers, they run your business and structure. Just because they have a good resume doesn’t mean they are good people, communicators, friendly, and so on.
We love our CEO. He is down-to-earth, available, self-deprecating, smart, accessible, and a good sport. He also has an extremely strong work ethic.

What does the ideal candidate in the Operations department look like at Carvana?
Clean cut, nicely dressed, detailed and one that get the job done. Confident.
What's the Operations team like at Carvana?
Everyone works together to ensure on time deliveries and pickup. My hub is great, but my supervisor is restricted from operating the department by his decisions of what should and shouldn't be. He's a supervisor, manager, and should be allowed to hire his own crew when positions come open and not have to train new hires when he can promote from within his own hub and start a new hire at the bottom and let them show they're skills before just sticking them where they start at the top .
