In your opinion, what are the most common interview questions that ChangePoint asks?
Professional background/experience applicable to role you're applying for Preferred work style & environment How you navigate situations with little existing process How you balance strategic planning & tactical execution
Diagram and architecture that you worked with or created.
Who did you meet with during your interview? And how long did it take to hear back from ChangePoint?
CEO, CMO, VP of product, members of my functional team and direct reports Entire process took a few weeks and they were willing to work with me on timeline as I was considering another offer at the same time
Hiring manager (VP-level in my case), prospective team mates both senior and junior to me. I work closely with the exec team and interviewed with the CEO but that's not generally the case for every role. Whole interview process took a few weeks from initial screen to offer
What should I wear for an interview at ChangePoint?
Not jeans/t-shirt but we're a very casual office. If interviewing for a technical role, can get away with more casual. If interviewing for a business role, suggest slightly more dressed up (slacks, collared shirt, dark pants, sweater, etc). Our execs typically wear dress pants and a button down shirt but that's the most dressed up they get on a day-to-day basis
Depends on what position you're interviewing for but in general we're a relatively casual office. No suit, no tie. Dress pants and button down/sweater would be plenty dressed up for most roles.
How flexible is your work schedule at ChangePoint?
Very flexible
What's the work from home policy like at ChangePoint?
Generally flexible but varies team-to-team. Is usually worked out with your individual manager
What does the ideal candidate in the Engineering department look like at ChangePoint?
Passionate, knowledgeable, cooperative.
How's the work life balance at ChangePoint?
Generally very positive work life balance. I feel supported and have the flexibility to work where, how and when I want - within reason. However, we're a small company operating and supporting a global business. This means teams run lean which can contribute to a heavy workload at times.
What do people at ChangePoint think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
New CEO (Aug 16) has invigorated the leadership team and does a good job balancing leading from the middle (i.e. listening when teams tell him what they need to be successful) with making the tough decisions that fall to the CEO. Is making much-needed positive change--investing in employees and engaging customers. However, while change brings opportunity, it rarely comes easily/without pain especially for long-time employees comfortable with "but that's how we've always done it". Overall, I like and respect Matt and am confident he's focused on building a stronger business positioned for growth.
