Leadership is pathetic. The executive team has no formal leadership training nor experience and use psychological tactics to get under employees’ skin. All of the loyalty speak from one co-founder makes us think we’re in the Trump Admin. Ironically, he has the temperament of a 1st grader.
Leadership has no experience in leadership roles, so it feels like they're going the direction of that day's winds. Decisions are slowly leaked out to the masses and communication is rarely straightforward. Just because you're in leadership does not mean you're a leader, they need help on this.
They put on smiles and say encouraging things during our quarterly meetings but really aren't putting in the time to get to know newer hires. All this talk about a new investor and how it's going to be more hard work, but what's the plan to protect us from burning out? Not thinking about us.
I guess they should start listening to peoples' concerns and making decisions based on them before more people that we look up to decide to quit.
Have a clear policy for compensation.
Can't rely on bonus or raise to happen when it should. Have to fight for every inch. The company backdated my raise by a few weeks to make up for incompetence but I still don't get why bonuses were 3 months late.
The executives in the company have short term reactive good behavior and don't have the best interests of their employees in mind when they make decisions. They react first and apologize later (sometimes) and it's gotten stale. That's why the longer-term employees are finally starting to leave.
All team "leaders" are first time leaders so there IS little leadership and communication suffers. Egos are a big part of Cipher's issues because people are put into roles based on tenure, not leadership ability and everyone is Vice President so egos become very fragile when trying to give advice.
As we grow we might want to create a growth path for those who joined in the first years.
Executives (if you can even call them that) don't know what they're doing, don't let their employees make any decisions for themselves, and then blame everybody but themselves when there is negative feedback about them. Grow up!

We have one Co-Founder who thinks he's the best at everything and doesn't realize the whole room is just waiting for him to stop talking. But we all smile and nod because he has the emotional range of a toddler.
We need some real leaders in this company.
