How employees describe working at Compass
WHEN WE HAVE FED THOUSANDS OF CADETS IN A TIMELY MANNER
It is a good company to work for
A lot of gossiping done from the managers about other emplyees. They do not handle important situations well. To come to an arrangement that works for all involved. The higher ups tend to take the supervisors sides over rhe employee in those said situations. Very sad

How secure do you feel at your job at Compass?
Top Employee Response
It feels like the Trump cabinet! People join, they leave. The number of leaders in the company that decided to stick with it more than a year is surprisingly low- less than 10%. With high leadership churn also comes a lot of anxiety in the ranks for job security.
Too many changes for a company our size. Managers leave all the time, people get fired all the time.
Not secure. If you wish to transfer managers block, then burry you in a bad account.
How's the feedback proccess at Compass?
This was my first job and I left quickly- over the time I worked in product and engineering, we heard constantly from leadership that we were doing a bad job since we could never meant the overly ambitious goals they set. The review itself felt like humiliation to me- the manager said it was for my own good. I was demoralized and left.
Not good at all.
Poor, lacking responsiveness to needs and queries.
How difficult is it to maintain a social life while in your job at Compass?
Depends if you are on call or not.
If you are looking for a job where you can have work-life balance, Compass is not it.
Considerably as am expected to be "on call" 24/7 as a manager. Very disruptive to living
What's the office vibe like at Compass?
Top Employee Response
Office vibe is sad. The majority of employees who are left joined after the SoftBank investment- that means that their upside to equity is very small compared to early stage joiners. For early joiners, the company is great. For those who are joining now, it is sad since you are working your ass off for little upside.
Poor. Negative energy and hateful people.
Compass culture is great and people are generally very friendly. Much more than other offices I’ve worked in.

Good
Horrible. They still want you to come in to work even in dangerous conditions.
How are the managers at Compass?
They are okay. They care more about money than your personal being.
The company wants to do better, and they run quarterly NPS surveys. The manager ratings in many teams like product and engineering are so abysmal and they haven't figured out a way to fix it.
How's career growth and advancement at Compass?
No advancement. Most people are in the same position for 10-15 years. It’s sad.
Company has not yet figured out how to invest in their employees. You'll most likely spend more time thinking about whether you'll have a job next week than think about growth and advancement.

They love their benefits. Not bad for a British based company.
There is NO 401k match. You pay for the technology including paying for your own mobile phone and service. No bonuses. Poor health insurance.

Not challenged. At all.
Challenged by micromanagers and a drunk director.

Top Employee Response

Some days are good. But at it's core the company is a sales organization, selling a aspirational vision to real-estate professionals who are not tech savvy. In the engineering side, this means you always feel complicit in deceit.
