Engage with actual rank and file employees and their day to day experience. Based on the executive leadership words and actions, they have no idea what's actually happening inside the company. I've worked here for years now, and I've never met the CEO.

Suggest Crusoe do better to hold leaders accountable to consistent standards. The loudest person in the room gets what they want while others try to play by the rules and guidelines. It's highly political and they value favorability over competence.

Connect with rank-and-file employees. Have an open, anonymous Q&A at all-hands. The ways the leaders speak about Crusoe makes me convinced they have no idea what is actually going on inside their company.

Listening to employees, promoting quality, promoting good faith

They are too worried about degrees, people are advancing with photography degrees while those of us with real experience sit by and watch. They don't listen. They play favorites. My manager doesn't know what she is doing and doesn't manage the team. She is a puppet for another team member.

My pay is not at the same level as other peers at my same level who work in the same industry

Being able to afford housing near my dayjob. Crusoe is confusingly wed to highest cost of living markets, but tends to only pay 60-70th percentile wages. We're all competing in the same local housing market, and Crusoe employees are currently losing.

No backdoor Roth conversion, health premiums are not the best compared to other companies. RSU vesting is 4 years instead of 3 years, 401k company contribution is low compared to other compnaies

Need more bonus. The current bonus are flat to everyone, and not much.

Consistent tender offers, consistent bonuses, better pay

Care about computers outside your job function. Focus on doing things correctly, rather than just ticking the box today. Actually read and editorialize your Claude outputs.

Some of them are not easy going

I feel some coworkers are inconsistent with their work hours, and there's a lack of accountability in their work performance.

Care about the work and doing a good job. Practice humility. We have a huge contingent of employees that are here because they like the paycheck, but it really hurts those of us that care about doing a high-quality job. With management that doesn't know how to code, we're shipping crappy software.

Stop hiring people from big tech

Stop hiring and focus on growing correctly and sustainably. We have too many bozos because we rushed to hire, and their culture is spreading

It's highly political and it skews towards tech bro culture. Strong women or women with strong opinions are told that they need to work on their executive presence. People that push back on leadership decisions are seen as not bought in and are fired. This makes for a tense culture

People are exhausted. The company is trying to do too much with too few people. It looks like it's getting worse over time, not better.

Treat employees like adults: - Let them set their own collaboration models and locations - Set clear expectations - Reward folks when they exceed expectations, and meaningfully discipline folks when they fail. There is currently no punishment for failing, so folks just checked out.

Stronger HR leadership that holds the executive team accountable.

it seems that we aren't clear about who is doing what and by when.

Managers who know what they are doing. No favorites. Listen to people, everyone! Manager reviews! No micro managing. Same rules from one department to the next.

I'm nervous that there will be some giant crisis as a result of some other team taking a risk or selling something we can't deliver without working people to death for a few weeks. It's how senior leadership want to run things, so it's not going to change.
Review from Engineering Dept
Deep layers of middle-management leads to extreme disconnection between leadership and execution. A culture of carelessness leads to excessive mistakes and crappy work. When there is no reward for craftsmanship, and no punishment for being lazy, folks just check out and do the bare minimum.
