Ms. Melissa A. Schulman has been Senior Vice President of Government & Public Affairs at CVS Health Corporation since 2015. Ms. Schulman leads the teams responsible for public policy, regulatory, state and federal advocacy and public affairs efforts for the enterprise and business units. Known for her legislative expertise and strategic approach, she has more than 14 years of experience on Capitol Hill and 18 years in the private sector. She served as Senior Vice President of Government Affairs at Association for Accessible Medicines (a/ka/ Generic Pharmaceutical Association) since May 2013. There she directed GPhA's advocacy efforts at the state and federal level and guided the industry's legislative priorities. She was Vice President at the Bockorny Group for 15 years, a leading government affairs firm working on behalf of trade associations and Fortune 100 companies. A principal at Hill media, she was the senior Democratic lobbyist and managed the Bockorny Group's Democratic team. She served as a Principal at Bockorny Group, Inc. Recognized as one of the most prominent Democratic lobbyists in Washington, she joined the Bockorny Group in 1998, after almost 14 years of service as one of the top Democratic leadership staffers in Congress and as a senior aide to current House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD). Before joining the Bockorny Group, she served as Executive Director of the Democratic Caucus and Policy Director to Representative Hoyer. As a legislative assistant in Congressman Hoyer's office, she steered the Americans with Disabilities Act through its consideration in the House of Representatives. Prior to her tenure in Representative Hoyer's office, Ms. Schulman worked with Representatives Thomas Manton (D-NY) and Geraldine Ferraro (D-NY). While working on the Hill, she was cited among Roll Call's list of Top 50 Congressional staff. As a Consultant, she is cited as a leading Democratic lobbyist in publications such as The Hill and National Journal magazine. She is known for her deep relationships across Capitol Hill, particularly with the moderate Members of Congress and is a proven and effective legislative strategist adept at building and managing advocacy coalitions on behalf of her clients. She is additionally known for her financial services and healthcare expertise and has played an important role in representing a number of clients with regards to both the recent economic stimulus and TARP legislation. Ms. Schulman is a graduate of James Madison College at Michigan State University.
