What do you like best about the leadership team at Dealer Spike?
Top Employee Response
The leaders work hard and do the best they can with little guidance from the CEO/CFO. They clearly care about the company and staff.
While they may not always be communicative, I do feel like they have my back - my immediate bosses that is; good ladies.
They allow us to be ourselves and focus on our strengths
What is the best part about your compensation package at Dealer Spike?
Top Employee Response
commission structure is great!!
commission structure is great!!
Very competitive!
What is most positive about the culture and environment at Dealer Spike?
Top Employee Response
The company is slowly shedding it's homogeneous skin and actually developing some culture. It will be interesting to see how it grows.
Most people get along and have fun while working hard.
Young and fun. This can have a negative effect at moments.
What are some of the best things about your team at Dealer Spike?
Top Employee Response
Always supportive, I've witnessed coworkers drop whatever they are doing to help you understand or accomplish what you are working on!
Most people here are hard working and excited to be here.
A variety of experiences coming together, teaching each other what we know/can and supporting each other as much as any desk jockey can.
What makes you most happy at Dealer Spike?
Top Employee Response
Help clients who don't realize at 1st that they really do need the help!
Being allowed to dictate my own day, provided the opportunity to shine in my day to day work.
Our work is so much better than our competitors it's unbelievable. And I like my co-workers.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation at Dealer Spike?
Top Employee Response
It's pretty open knowledge that we don't really get paid competitively, this place is positioning itself as a stepping stone.
Work load does not correlate with pay, high expectations with little incentive.
Management doesn't say "thank you."Management walks by every day and doesn't engage or makes eye contact.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved at Dealer Spike?
Top Employee Response
Feels like a factory to me where "its the next person up" mentality. Don't feel valued, don't feel heard.
Optional flex schedules, option of four tens or working from home would improve things dramatically. We aren't a crisis hotline.
Work load is high. Easy to stress about work outside of work.
What's the interview process like at Dealer Spike?
Get ready to take s personality assessment when you arrive.
It was really easy. I interviewed with the Manager and he liked my experience so two days later I had a final interview with the VP and then started the following week. Pretty straight forward questions about relevant work experience and what I was expecting out of the job. Been here almost a year and couldn’t be happier
The interview process has some areas of opportunities.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Dealer Spike?
More interaction between departments and the execs. More transparency. More training. Less favoritism and office politics.
Consolidating departments. Improving HR interactions/ announcements
There are a lot of great things about the company but there isn't much in the way of organization or standard operating procedures. There is no consistency when making decisions base on territories, ultimately it usually goes for whoever is friends with the managers.
How's the vacation policy at Dealer Spike?
It is very lenient and generous
It is flexible. very generous.
Very Flexible.
What are your coworkers at Dealer Spike like?
Coworkers are segregated and dictated by preferences causing a lot of gossips and uncomfortable to be around.
Good people for the most part, there are a few that will take deals from you but for the most part good people.
It depends on your department. There is a mixture of personalities and a wide range in experience/professional background. You will probably make at least one good friend while you're here. The holiday party is insane!
What does the leadership team at Dealer Spike need to get better at?
Top Employee Response
Interact with the staff - say hello, make eye contact, engage in conversation
Being more strategic with how we utilize our resources and proactive about keeping our procedures up to date.
Positive encouragement is non existent / disingenuous here. The numbers are all that matters here, that is abundantly clear.
How's the feedback proccess at Dealer Spike?
Feedback deviates more towards a negative feedback than positive. This causes an issue that is hard to miss. I have seen representatives stop caring focusing on just collecting a check or putting their two weeks notice.
Truly depends on the department. The best way to know how you’re doing is to just ask.
What kind of people succeed at Dealer Spike?
Is hard to say, I have seen representatives with amazing talent and years of experience with the company-incredibly successful at their jobs but, not going anywhere in their career path. I also have seen representatives promoted into a management role with prominent lack of skill.
People who can go with the flow and keep up.
How challenged are you at Dealer Spike?
You will be tested to the max not tangibly on paper, but mentally as part of the current company culture.
In some areas, it’s a breeze and in others it is harder. Attitude is everything.
How secure do you feel at your job at Dealer Spike?
Very insecure.
They are really good at making sure you know when you’re not performing well. They will give you multiple warnings in most cases. Other than sales, they don’t like to fire people unless they have to.
What's the best part of your job at Dealer Spike?
The clientele, when you are able to make a positive difference to a customer that is limited in knowledge of the new digital marketing. Is very rewarding to be part of their success!
The clients. I love working with dealerships.
How's the work pace at Dealer Spike?
Rapid and unpredictable due to many variables.
Usually fast, but there are some slow times. It’s very dependent on the department you are in.
How much and how often do raises happen at Dealer Spike?
When hired you get a minimal raise on your first 90 days. The second rise happens at your one-year anniversary sort off.
Usually at 90 days and then annually. The amount varies quite a bit.
What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining Dealer Spike?
I wish I knew the company offers no structural training, I wish I knew the type of software/tools available to you. 75% of time-critical tools needed to perform your job duties are often broken. and the company does not seem to invest in tools to increase the proficiency of their reps; instead, they use free software available to the public. To conclude, I wish I knew how unorganized their information resources are currently set to.
A better job description would have been nice. It’s been updated and made much more transparent since I was hired. Also, the non-compete clause should be explained better.
How's the morale at Dealer Spike?
The moral is tainted, paramount decisions often refer back to friendships rather than factual performance lowering the moral standards for anyone.
Mediocre. They need to make incentives better. Free food and beer is great, but I’d rather have better monetary incentives, benefits, and other perks.
How much diversity is there among employees at Dealer Spike?
Diversity is high but, more aggressive. In a regular company set up, racial slurs are often diminished when reported to human resources. Here you will hear inappropriate jokes, racial slurs left and right with very little intervention.
It depends on the department. The sales department is about 98% male. There are actually a decent number of females in management, which is refreshing. The company is not very diverse when it comes to race. It’s a lot of hipsters and bros. The exec team is in the office, but not really approachable.
What unique perks and benefits does Dealer Spike provide?
Snacks, coffee, and food cart once a month.
Occasionally offers work from home options (not usually though) and sometimes you have team outings. Free food... tons of it. Beer every Friday. Catered lunches every so often. Super casual dress code. BEST HOLIDAY PARTY EVER!
What's the office layout like at Dealer Spike?
The office layout is very intrusive we have very small spaces from cubicles to departments and lunchrooms.
It’s an open office layout but kind of weird. It’s not one easily explained. Be prepared to get cozy with the people around you.
What's the vibe like in the Product dept at Dealer Spike? How many hours are you working?
40+ hours.
The Production Team is usually a standard 8-5 shift at 40 hours a week. It depends on the current workload, though. It can be a very stressful department at times (especially towards the end of the month) but that is being re-examined right now. Most of the time, it’s fun. It’s a pretty casual setting. Lots of free food and candy, which doesn’t hurt.
