How employees describe working at Dealer Spike

I had high hopes when we signed on with Dealer Spike. There performance has been very disappointing.

good challenges, clear growth path

communication - ability to return calls - technical aspects of web development - poor performance of the dealer websites they support.

They aren't looking over my shoulder 100% of the time. They trust me to do my work if I provide results.

Q&A With Dealer Spike Employees

Asked to the Product Department at Dealer Spike

  • Broken, communication is null. There is no training and you evidently get expose to a customer with not even 35% of knowledge acquisition. Resulting in stress to the representatives, and jeopardizing customer service metrics.

  • The Production Team is split into 3 main groups that are all very different from each other. Within the 3 groups, there are tons of different personalities and talent levels.

Asked to the Product Department at Dealer Spike

  • Agravise at meeting monthly quota. Reckless at active listening to their representatives. Small company with huge potential, which triggers favoritism, not base on performance nor seniority of their representatives but how well you befriend your manager/leader.

  • The production department has various leaders. The Production Manager is incredibly intelligent and fun, but a bit unorganized. If you can adapt quickly (I mean VERY quickly) to constant change, you’ll love it. If you are a creature of habit and expect the structure to be solid and spelled out for you, this will not be the right fit. It also really depends on which department you’re in, within the team. Being comfortable with voicing your ideas/reservations is also a huge advantage.

Asked to the Product Department at Dealer Spike

  • If you compared your workload/responsibilities your pay rate is scarce. In other words, underpay. impacting new the applicants pushing at often times a 2 to 3 year period to work on a raise and be at a pay rate that is competitive to the market.

  • That depends on the role within the department, but is usually based on experience. Also, are you referring to the production department or product development?

  • The clients and industry are fun. I'm learning a lot and I've developed skills that have opened new possibilities I never even knew existed. I think it all depends on WHAT you're doing within the company. Someone in client solutions will probably have a very different view than a person in production.

  • I am excited about the growth of the company and where it will be in 5 years.

  • General professionalism / competency of the average person here is low. Turnover is EXTREMELY high. Why bother making friends anymore?

  • This is not high school and you are replaceable, no matter how amazing you think you are. Also, don't be the type of person who causes unnecessary distractions. This is a workplace. Yes, it's relaxed compared to others, but there still needs to be some level of professionalism among entry level coworkers. The leadership team needs to step up and lead by example in order for entry level associates to know what the expectations are. At the same time, we are all adults and should know how to behave as such.
