What are you most excited about working at DFS?
Owning my own projects from start to finish.
What are your coworkers at DFS like?
There's a diverse group of employees from many different ethnic backgrounds but slightly less from professional backgrounds. Promotion from within the company is popular.
What do people at DFS think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
The CEO seems respectable but being such a large company, most are removed from the CEO's day to day decisions.
How's the work life balance at DFS?
It varies throughout the company but there's a lot of unfair and unwarranted pressure to meet deadlines that can hurt work-life balance.
Does DFS have any remote positions?
It's up to individual managers how much work at home they allow each employee.
How does DFS make decisions around promotions?
It varies amongst departments but what I've seen is mostly a hidden process where individual cherry-pick their favorite employees and mis-lead the others.
How's the vacation policy at DFS?
Discover has a PTO policy that lumps sick days and vacation days into one large pool. Salary employees get 25 days when they get hired and 3 more days every 5 years of employment. You can carry over up to 5 days a year.
