We continuously seek more diversity in our talent pool because we believe that true innovation reflects varying perspectives, skills, and backgrounds. We are intentional about our diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts because we believe that by cultivating an environment where our diverse employees can thrive, we will be able to better serve our global customers.
As a company who invented its own category and is part of the just 2% of VC backed start-ups led by Latinx founders, we care about innovation. Diversity of thinking leads to increased innovation and lowered risk, and some diverse thinking comes from demographic diversity, like gender and race/ethnicity. We also recognize the systemic barriers to diversity in the tech workforce. So, we've looked at our demographic data by gender and race/ethnicity, and acknowledging that they are not at a place where we can call our teams balanced with underrepresented people, we have created aggressive hiring goals that will bring in more women and people of color.
Drift also encourages and actively supports the grassroots formation of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) by groups of underrepresented people with a felt need for community within our offices. Within these groups, people are able to connect with others from similar backgrounds or lead as an ally to inclusion, which we hope boosts their sense of belonging. We believe the individuals in these groups are representatives of the diversity of thought and experience that contributes to our success and we will look to them to hold us accountable with regards to our business practices.
We currently have eight ERGs at Drift. They are:
- Inclusion@Drift
- Women@Drift
- Rainbots@Drift (LGBTQ+ ERG)
- Cambio@Drift (LatinX ERG)
- STEM@Drift
- Mental Health@Drift
