How employees describe working at Drift
Overall I am very privileged to have secured a job when the market was good and my overall comp was high (even though no stock options). Coworkers and managers (for me personally) have been respectful and kind, fostering a sense of community and supporting professional development. Great experience!
Review from Customer Success Dept
Overall great! There are of course challenges, but ones that I enjoy. Things change a lot, which to me is a good thing. We’re constantly learning and growing. But I think if you’re coming from a big company mentality that can be a hard transit

What should I wear for an interview at Drift?
Keep it casual. Similar to what you see in YouTube videos.
Whatever you feel represents who you are.
What is the hardest interview question Drift asks?
What does your day look like?
The CTO asked me to cold call him to sell Drift. It was hard, but I was better having done it and learned from the guy that built the product.
What is the onboarding process like at Drift and how long does it last?
Orientation is 1 day, and it is hands down the best onboarding experience I have ever had. And this is my 17th job. You get a short presentation Q/A with a lot of Senior management people, often including CEO, CTO, CFO. On day one you are given a 1/7/30 plan by your manager that outlines what your goals are for your first day, your first week and your first month. After that, you are in the deep end and expected to figure out how you can add value. Mind you everyone on the team (aka the entire staff is there to support you and do whatever they can to make sure you succeed.) Really. Kind of amazing. #notnormal
Fast and impressive. My first day on the job was in a classroom-like setting with different lesson plans from the girl that builds our product, the CEO and CTO, and led by the Director of Learning. I was in awe of how much I learned and how much they expected from me on Day 1. I should also mention that even with 3 offices they send every new hire to HQ in Boston for 2 weeks!
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Drift?
Give employees more autonomy during the day. Empower employees to take time for themselves for at least 30 minutes each day.
