Seems to turnover fairly often
They are very transparent and approachable
Review from Engineering Dept
Dropbox has recently shown solid commitment to improving its middle management, both through training of existing staff and by bringing in experienced managers from larger companies.
Review from Engineering Dept
The middle management is terrible and needs to turn over.
Acknowledge people with the work they did not just with hollow empty slogans but actual reward during comp time. Mgt need to trim the fact of a few black sheep veterans who don’t know anything and lead with zero credibility and handson skills. A real anonymous survey instead of the Soap neede
Creating accountability for middle managers, empowering the people they hire to make decisions vs tops-down mandates. Creating a culture of transparency and directness.
Designing things for humans and getting actual feedback rather than unquestionable top down mandates
Review from Engineering Dept
Preventing sexism and horrible culture
Direction and making hard decisions to scale Dropbox to the next level
Free food and cafeteria with chef
Review from Engineering Dept
Its more than fair and takes care of my financial needs, emotional and mental needs, and looks out for my family
Review from Engineering Dept
Not only is the equity publicly tradable now, but salary is also slightly high both in comparison to other offers and as a percentage of total comp.
Review from Engineering Dept
Base salary is high. And good corporate bonus.
free food, bonus payment (but it's annual)
Comp should based on impact made, not on if you say yes to unreasonable requests from mgt
So much of the compensation is tied up in sales targets that are unachievable by design. Your salary is basically a hoax
Good people, talented, no egos.
Mostly people who don’t know real knowledge looking to a few that do, no details prior to meeting and waste of time. Many can be replaced by asy
Everyone is smart and driven despite the politics. But the toxic environment can get to the best performers.
most of my coworkers are great and fun to hang around with
The employees are some of the best people I have ever worked with.
Inclusivity & empathy towards those not "typical" is chronically lacking
Review from Engineering Dept
All remote, accommodating with different time zones, personal needs, etc
There are always opportunities to take on ownership of new areas, and since the company is growing, people are glad for the chance to share the load, rather than territorial and defensive of "their" space.
Review from Engineering Dept
The food is amazing
Launch a discovery by third party firm to really hear employees pain points in the trenches rather than a few mgt who are out of touch and can not accurately represent their teams
There needs to be more accountability to keep middle managers productive, instead of making them messengers of tops down mandates. There are several extremely problematic managers that are going unchecked.
Tackle rampant sexism and stop treating people like they're just their sale target
Mix up experience levels and stop bringing in so many overpaid outsiders who talk a good game but don’t do any real work. Still not large enough nor have the systems to effectively get all the day to day work done
work life balance, workload balance amongst the team, some people work 9-5, some people work more than 9-9, train middle managers to be better, hire PEOPLE managers who will care about their teams, less politics
Recruiter supports candidates throughout process,
The best part of the interview process was meeting team members.
It was quick and straight forward
Review from Engineering Dept
It was really fast but mostly because they were desperate to fill places
There are many toxic and unethical hiring practices where decisions already made prior to wasting team’s time from nepoti
People care, in tech but not an evil company
Working with smart, determined people
The scope of my job and the quality of my coworkers.
Review from Engineering Dept
All the ingredients exist- resources, smart people, and a strong core product. Leadership needs to delegate decision-making and put it all together.
Untrained, complacent management that will smile and nod and make you feel good just before you go fall flat on your face
Review from Engineering Dept
Super toxic environment where everyone is terrified
Executives in finance are all out for themselves. Sets a bad tone. Not reflective of Dropbox culture and because we are now public there is a lot of micromanagement in the wrong areas
less politics, better managers, better work life balance, hire people leaders who care about their team
