What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Non-punitive environment and implementing a servant leader policy along with zero tolerance for jerks

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Leadership needs to practice servant leadership rather than demanding and unsupportive requests that goes nowhere despite feedback of the whole team

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

Customers often don't even know EMD Serono, despite being the oldest pharma company in the world. The R&D staggered for too many years, but it is catching-up recently.

What did you like most about the interview process?

The interview process usually includes many team members and not only management, which allows the team to also give feedback about their perception of the candidate and ultimately build better team dynamics. This good practice has diminished over the years.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

The culture propagated by the management is the real problem. The co-workers are just not motivated to do their best and to be their best selves. The usual toxic management style curtails people's eagerness to go to work and thus their interactions with colleagues.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

There are no stock options for global director level, which is a standard elsewhere. There is a very low concern about retention so long term incentive plans are only given to those who are the highest performers, which is a very unusual rating for most people.
