Clear, honest and timely communication

Being more transparent. Communicate and explain what is happening. That way EMT cannot be angry when rumors are going around.

Stop putting so much focus into band aid fixes like DEI and ERG and start focusing on employee wellbeing. Do more for your people and stop spending so much money on erroneous things that add zero benefit to the organization outside of bullet points that the company is doing our part.

What is the best part about your compensation package?
Pay is good, but quarterly bonuses could be better.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
My pay does not match my overall experience. It also seems that we are behind in reviewing the overall pay structure. I am regularly contacted by banks/recruiting companies and the pay is always higher than my pay here.

For the skillset I am expected to bring to the organization, my pay does not compensate this. Additionally, the recent changes around job codes/pay LOWERED the starting pay for this position, which leads me to believe that the Bank thinks I am overpaid. It is not a good feeling.

Because I'm underpaid and I think the PTO can be better for everyone all around. Not asking for exec PTO, but get us closer. What would make me feel better is to be paid what my position actually is worth, not some arbitrary number you think is right.

The annual merit raise is not very good. It was very low for the amount of work and effort I have given over the year in review. Annual salary is not comparable to other jobs posted that are similar to what I do at First Merchants Bank. An increase for a livable wage in 2024 and more vacation.

What are some of the best things about your team?
We work together and don't think of something as "someone else's responsibility" We will step in when needed. I do not see this in the lines of business I regularly interact with.
