GameStop Leadership Employee Reviews

What do you like best about the leadership team?

Great store leader and district leader

It is easy to work with everyone

how helpful they are with everything

Immediate leaders are good but executive leaders are not experienced to handle GameStop challenging situations

I like my manager, but everyone else is just too harsh, and extremely mean to their employees. They call them replaceable, etc.

They promise to do better.. Whether they deliver or not is another story

Attitude and compassion nice people.

They make the job easy for me

Review from Sales Dept

Store managers tend to be very considerate and care about their employees. The overall vibe from corporate management, however, is that they don't care about store employees outside of their ability to make sales.

Review from Sales Dept

They're always very friendly and make sure the team is productive and happy

Review from Marketing Dept

We’re all very close and support each other

Review from Customer Support Dept

We’re all very happy and get along and love helping our customers

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Caring for the employees overall

The manager needs to do her schedule better for assistant managers make too many hours and too many days to the point of exhaustion.

Increased Communication, leading by example,

I believe that the leadership, in my team at least, needs to get better at communication.

Empathy and connecting with their employees. Instead of viewing everyone as a number making genuine connections and understanding employees would lead to more motivation and loyalty from employees.

Connecting with their employees at all levels, communicating with all levels, making sure we all get their message, spend some time with us, listen to us when we tell you things are not working and why. We want to help too.

Everything. They are out of touch with the customers. Too much political maneuvering by upper management. Poor decisions for IT spending and lack of support for internal business partners.

Everything needs to be updated

Actually care about workers costumers and games

Review from Sales Dept

Treating people like humans and not just pawns.

Review from Sales Dept

It needs to get better at respecting customers and workers

Review from Sales Dept

They need new leaders and they need to do a better job stop asking us to upset take advantage of customer

Review from Marketing Dept

Being more fair about hours worked and shift choices.

Review from Sales Dept

Keeping the store cleaner and mor organized

Review from Sales Dept

Communication, marketing, incentives, competitive wages, and employee morale.

Review from Sales Dept

Treating the employees better, quite disrespectful.

Review from Product Dept

Communication is definitely lacking at my branch.

Review from Sales Dept

Actually leading rather than focusing all of their time on numbers. If they focused more on the clients themselves they would probably be more successful.

Review from Sales Dept

Making people feel valued instead of threatening them. Every day I go in to negative emails and conference calls

Review from Sales Dept

Most things really. Turnover was high and went through multiple people in that position.
