Hot Topic Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Im not sure about it

If you work hard you move up and get paid very well

Insurance is far less our of paycheck than other retail companies.

I like all of it, everything is great!

40% off for me and my brother

Medical, dental, vision, 401 match, bonus

Unless you are a manager there are none other than your employee discount.

40% off employee discount for every product in store and online.

Not much to say. It’s fai

I have no complaints so far about my compensation package.

A Very generous Employee discount

Review from Sales Dept

since we are a very busy we are paid more than minimum wage. and a 40% discount for employees. That's amazing!!

Review from Sales Dept

The store discount is awesome and works at our sister stores as well. The benefits is great for those of us who are full-time but unless you're full-time management, the pay rates are on the lower end. I got paid more at another retailer as a FTASM than I do as a Store Manager.

Review from Sales Dept

I feel like the free shoes and shirts every so often are extremely nice and beneficial towards the place that I work. I also love my staff team I work with, theyre sweet and kind.

Review from Sales Dept

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

More flexibility for full-time students.

The pay is minimum, no matter how expensive the area you are in, and management get paid cents more the associates with triple the responsibility. It's not at all livable, even if you're running the store, they don't even make up for it with giving you more hours.

I want to be paid fairly and management doesnt care

Review from Sales Dept

Cost of living is higher and factoring in commute times, i struggle with the amount that i bring home to be able to pay my bills.

While I love my job I feel it is not fair that my coworker gets paid more than I do because of his title let lack of work in a day/week/or even month when I do more work than him.

We are one of the leading stores nationally, please just pay us more, $14 an hour would suffice

Being paid a better wage and treated with better respect

I feel that im indervalue because sometimes managers oush their tasks to us, or we deal more with the people. Whioe they fix maniquines or work on shipment when they get paid more. So they should be doing more.

Better pay and better hours for my staff

I would have stayed if they'd not been such a hostile work environment. Maybe we should be graded on how we treat other employees and not just customers.

Being able to have advancement

Better pay and benefits that supported the work expected

As a sales associate who has been with the company for years, I have been given responsibilities that belong to a manager such as training new hires and since the arrival of my current district manager, I have never been given an opportunity to move up.

Not under valued , as a part time we dont get all benefits

I came in with previouse experience in retail, sales, stocking, and custimer service yes am continuously under utilized while the manager pushes tasts on others simple because shes "not good at them".

Better pay is a must. Especially in management. There is so much to do and so much responisbility, 10/hr isnt worth the stress the job entales.

Essentially was underpaid the entire time despite literally running the store and doing more than enough to get us past sales goals. Loyalty is essentially shoved into your face and if you weren't getting signs ups than they don't care a single bit about you.

Because hot topic is a huge company. There is no reason we shoukd be making minimum wage when we work as hard as we do.

give me more money to deal with people who sneeze on me during a pandemic

I dont make enough to live on and I dont even get benefits
