HubSpot Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

We need to have competitive packages as a tech company so overall ours is good. General health/exercises expensing is nice.

Review from Engineering Dept

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Since starting at HubSpot, my stock options have dropped, and high performance culture has made it harder to get even cost of living raises. My benefits have decreased since I started here and have not been replaced with other ones.

Review from Operations Dept

I feel that I am being compensated fairly though it is dependent on which department and it is more challenging to get a progression in a role. Part of this could also be macro-economic headwinds affecting finance

Review from Marketing Dept

Our compensation still remains below or at average for many roles, while continuously expecting and demanding "top" performance. In addition, local benefits are not matched at all. Benefits in EMEA countries are far behind what other companies offer

Review from Customer Success Dept

I think there is discrepancy among the team when it comes to compensation. I would feel more fairly paid if I knew employees at a "lower" title weren't getting paid more than me.

Review from HR Dept

Massive lack of benefits for German employees.

Review from Marketing Dept

I feel undervalued by my pay I am doing the job of 2 mangers with a team of 13 Direct Reports and I am not compensated properly for the work/hours I am being asked to work.

Review from Operations Dept

It feels like I am carrying the load of multiple people's jobs in my one role. I also believe I am paid far less than my peers despite doing a lot of work and bringing a lot of impact for the company

Review from Product Dept

Lack of recognition for the work I do makes me feel undervalued. Constantly feel ignored or not included by my own team and it erodes at your mental health

Review from Operations Dept

The managers tell me my salary is based on the industry standard in the region. However, based on my own research and hearing from the peers in other company, I can't justify my current salary.

Review from Customer Success Dept

I know that for the position I am in, the experience I have and my responsibilities, I am not paid fairly. This is countered by the promise of promotion but if that promotion doesn't come, I will reconsider my position at HubSpot.

Review from Operations Dept

When I noticed that I was drastically underpaid compared to my team, I had to fight to be paid equally. I also highlighted that we were all underpaid compared to the industry standard and had to fight for all of us to get raises. It has also been an actual fight to get recognition and promotions.

Review from Product Dept

There are inconsistencies across my own team with the compensation. There are individual contributors paid significantly more than myself as a leader on the same team.

Review from HR Dept

Having a title that matches the work I'm actually doing

Review from Customer Support Dept

I think it's more related to my career trajectory at hubspot and a lot of lateral moves and leadership changes.

Review from Operations Dept

2023 has been one escalation after another in my segment. customers are meaner and we're under a lot more stress. current compensation + inflation does not account for how our roles have changed in the last year.

With the change announced in the Partner Development Manager role recently there is still too much uncertainty around what our compensation would be. As a Core CC I feel that what we do is undervalued from a compensation standpoint compared to the rest of the tech market.

Review from Customer Success Dept

Pay all departments competitively. Consider paying for additional skills acquired through formal accredited higher education. Why offer tuition reimbursement if you flat out say you don't want to compensate employees for the additional knowledge they gain?

Review from Marketing Dept

Align better to industry standard to recognize value

Review from Sales Dept

We do the absolute most any time management makes a change, and get nothing in return. No thanks, if anything we somehow still did something wrong.

Review from Sales Dept

No bonus structure for ICs while base salary is paid below what comparable companies are paying their similarly leveled ICs
