HubSpot Leadership Employee Reviews

What do you like best about the leadership team?

I like it best when the leadership team is transparent about goals, progress and challenges. When they do this, it is easy to partner with them on different business decisions.

Review from Customer Success Dept

Their willingness to try new things, change direction, and admit when something didn't work

Review from IT Dept

The transparency and straightforward communication

Review from HR Dept

- Clear strategy & communication. - Transparency - Customer focus - Growth mindset

Review from Design Dept

Our team is deeply committed to our company's mission -- you can see how invested and excited they are about what we do.

Review from HR Dept

The fact that Transparency is given so much importance

Review from Product Dept

Transparency, good communication, and I like their direction and vision for the company

Review from Product Dept

The leadership is transparent and caring, and aligns everyone towards the same goal

Review from Marketing Dept

Flexibility to adjust plans. No demand and order mentality.

Review from Sales Dept

Transparency, respectful and committed to making HubSpot a great place to work

Review from HR Dept

I think they communicate clearly with transparency. This communication comes frequently and tries to keep the employees informed. Even for concepts that are unfamiliar to the common person (like financials) are represented clearly and concisely

Review from Engineering Dept

I appreciate the transparency, I feel like they communicate goals and inniaitives well, and are always looking for feedback and ways to improve

Review from Product Dept

I appreciate the transparency of the leadership team at HubSpot. They've led us through very uncertain times from remote work to the AI wave.

Review from Product Dept

They're pretty transparent, have regular updates/all hands/AMAs, and address a lot of concerns head on.

Review from Engineering Dept

Transparent, direct and empathetic, Leadership understand the value in retaining top talent

Review from Sales Dept

Transparency, clear communication, and shared vision

Review from Operations Dept

They feel really approachable and the company has created spaces in which we can interact with them

Review from Customer Success Dept

clarity and commitment to the company

Review from Customer Success Dept

I love our leadership team's transparency. They clearly explain why decisions have or have not been made.

Review from Engineering Dept

They value transparency and genuinely want to make the company a better place

Review from Engineering Dept

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Understanding how compromising psych safety is impacting the company and working at odds with their goal of high performance

Review from Product Dept

Since shifting to "high performance culture," the experience here has dropped dramatically. I don't think leadership understands that making it harder for employees won't make them do more work, they just start to care less. Most people I work with are burnt out and being less thoughtful with work.

Review from Operations Dept

Less talk, more action Treat us as adults We don't need to be "excited" by everything and keep everything positive. We want honest an open dialogue

Review from Customer Success Dept

Transparency amongst employees. And the core direction of the company so that we aren't getting new directives every 6 months.

Review from Marketing Dept

Transparency about potential layoffs or restructuring. I think employees want to know about layoffs, no matter how small they are.

Review from Sales Dept

Transparency, aboiding discrimination, supporting wmployees, taking responsabilities for their decisions and consequences

Review from Sales Dept

Transparency is one of our core value but we haven't seen much of it recently. After the lays off, restructure to get rid of people in a nicer way. I understand it's a business and the goal it's to make money, but at least be honest about it instead of keep pretending you are invested in our culture.

Review from Operations Dept

Consistent messaging > i.e. we are publicly staying with the SMB space, but also internally working on upmarket features more than ever and pushing for more upmarket customers

Review from Customer Success Dept

Even though there have been chsnged all along the time ive been here gheres ine thing that has change for worst. Most of the people feels like numbers and machines. Mostly because of management of specific managers. Doing witch hunt to older reps.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Provide better clarity around Career Growth in HubSpot

Review from HR Dept

Internal Mobility and Retention at the Middle line Manager. To many revolving doors of management created a lot of inconsistencies for ICs and lack of growth.

Review from Operations Dept

Compensation is unrealistic for the marketplace. I would like to remain at HubSpot, but I'm contacted by recruiters on a daily basis hiring for roles that pay over $20k more per year than I make at HubSpot. It's less expensive to fairly compensate current employees than hire new ones.

Review from Operations Dept

Paying diverse and entry level employees what they are worth and offering raises to those who contribute holistically to the company. Prioritizing a beginners mind.

Review from Customer Success Dept

The org is highly Product-focused, which puts DRI authority and “clout” with folks who are experienced in relevant areas (e.g. Finance or Legal). Leadership needs to be much better about defining swimlanes and authority in a way that lets teams make decisions in their area of expert

Review from Finance Dept

Results over pretty presentations. Making hard decisions: saying NO. Accountability to outcomes.

Review from Engineering Dept

Refocus on growing individuals, HubSpot exec preaches this but I've never seen what this look like at a team or IC level. Providing support HubSpotters to connect in person. I am baffled as to why they discourage use of a different office when utilising the mobility policy.

Review from Marketing Dept

Direction, transparency, enabling career growth, fair pay

Review from Customer Success Dept

Valuing employees and recognizing contributions.

Review from Product Dept

Driving consistent clarity, simply and easily. Our UGJ policy has not scaled well with our growth. It leaves a lot in the grey and thus open to interpretation.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Paying support in a way that keeps up with the economy. Taking into consideration what an enormous role support plays in customer retention.
