Q&A With HubSpot Employees
HubSpot employees answer questions about what life is like behind the scenes at their company, including queries about culture, leadership, professional development, and compensation.
How employees describe working at HubSpot
HubSpot has been a great company to work for. I'm worried about the growth a bit as I think some decisions we're making are still geared towards a smaller company and I fear won't help us scale.
Review from HR Dept
HubSpot has high standards and it's fast paced, so it's not for someone who wants to coast. But the environment is exciting, the people are incredibly smart, and the company truly values it's employees. It's a really fantastic place to work.
Review from Customer Support Dept
HubSpot is by far the best company I've worked for. Between work/life balance and the real impact we have on customers, I can't see myself working elsewhere anytime soon.
Review from Product Dept
HubSpot is an exciting company to be at, and a wonderful place to grow and learn.
Review from Product Dept
I've been here for a decade for a reason :)

What's the IT team like at HubSpot?
Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and always learning. Fearless.
What's the pay like for HR roles at HubSpot?
It was low, it's getting better.
What's the pay like for Customer Support roles at HubSpot?
It's competitive. We hire a lot of junior people or straight out of college grads and compare well to other companies with grad programs etc. However, it isn't adjusted for market or standard of living in the cities we operate (all very expensive places to live). So while it can be comparable I still hear that a lot of the team struggle to live comfortably on the wage.
How's the leadership on the Operations team at HubSpot?
Extremely supportive!
What's the Product team like at HubSpot?
Exciting, autonomous and challenging.
How's the leadership on the Product team at HubSpot?
Product Leadership is very strong here, with a deep bench.
How does HubSpot make decisions around promotions?
HubSpot has quarterly performance reviews (at the minimum) and most folks meet with their manager at around once a week. If you'd like a promotion, make the case to your manager and ask for it.
What do you like best about the leadership team at HubSpot?
Crazy intelligent, driven, uncompromising standards, and inspirational.
1-10, how stressed are you?
Honestly, I've experienced the full range! It's good stress, though, if you're energized by an extremely awesome team.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better at HubSpot?
Focus on the mission of the company, and don't get hung up on petty, little things, such as perks, snacks in the kitchen, etc.
What is the best part about your compensation package at HubSpot?
- You're taken care of from a Work/Life point of view. Not a good place to rake in commission, however.
What makes you most happy at HubSpot?
Working closely with customers and, over the longer-term, being part of their goal / success realization.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at HubSpot?
Things are getting done, with very few instances of bureaucracy / roadblocks.
