Out of 7332 HubSpot employee reviews, 93% were positive. The remaining 7% were constructive reviews with the goal of helping HubSpot improve their work culture. The Legal team, with 97% positive reviews, reports the best experience at HubSpot compared to all other departments at the company.
Understanding how compromising psych safety is impacting the company and working at odds with their goal of high performance
Review from Product Dept
Since shifting to "high performance culture," the experience here has dropped dramatically. I don't think leadership understands that making it harder for employees won't make them do more work, they just start to care less. Most people I work with are burnt out and being less thoughtful with work.
Review from Operations Dept
Less talk, more action Treat us as adults We don't need to be "excited" by everything and keep everything positive. We want honest an open dialogue
Review from Customer Success Dept
Transparency amongst employees. And the core direction of the company so that we aren't getting new directives every 6 months.
Review from Marketing Dept
Transparency about potential layoffs or restructuring. I think employees want to know about layoffs, no matter how small they are.
Review from Sales Dept
Since starting at HubSpot, my stock options have dropped, and high performance culture has made it harder to get even cost of living raises. My benefits have decreased since I started here and have not been replaced with other ones.
Review from Operations Dept
I feel that I am being compensated fairly though it is dependent on which department and it is more challenging to get a progression in a role. Part of this could also be macro-economic headwinds affecting finance
Review from Marketing Dept
Our compensation still remains below or at average for many roles, while continuously expecting and demanding "top" performance. In addition, local benefits are not matched at all. Benefits in EMEA countries are far behind what other companies offer
Review from Customer Success Dept
I think there is discrepancy among the team when it comes to compensation. I would feel more fairly paid if I knew employees at a "lower" title weren't getting paid more than me.
Review from HR Dept
Massive lack of benefits for German employees.
Review from Marketing Dept
An overall lack of experience and perspective. Lots of people whose only job is HubSpot and are willing to consider new ideas on the surface, but not actually create any meaningful or necessary change. The bar of talent is also just lower than what I've experienced at other companies.
Review from HR Dept
It depends on which coworkers. Some of them I am very happy and excited to work together. With some others it is more difficult
Review from Executive Dept
Reaching out personally to make remote workers feel more welcome
Review from Customer Success Dept
Theres a lot of gossip, causing frustation and discomfort
Review from Customer Support Dept
It's not what my coworkers could be doing better but rather morale is low and everyone is burned out.
Review from Operations Dept
Leadership seems to be trying to keep growth going via lower costs (layoffs/attrition), mandates for higher quality and push for speed. By redefining culture to push for green squares, producing things constantly, and creating a punitive culture for ill-defined lack of quality, it's a losing game.
Review from Product Dept
company culture varies significantly by region. I get along great with peers (though not from my own team)/cross-functionally from the same region + APAC but am seeing issues with direct peers (same team) from NAM. less of a team spirit from NAM, focus on individual achievements (? greater goo
Review from Customer Support Dept
Pay employees more and spend far less time trying to market the jobs to the employees. We spend hours in meetings, going over the same issues. If we were comped better, people would be more motivated and would actually care about what is happening here. There is no reason to put energy in.
Review from Customer Success Dept
Modernize it to current market conditions and company size. UGJ is a sham. Inject accountability and attention to outcomes into our culture. Stop avoiding uncomfortable/constructive feedback.
Review from Engineering Dept
I would be nice to see shared benefits across all offices. For the. Berlin office, it feel like they actively discourage folks from coming to the office, in contrast to Dublin for example
Review from Marketing Dept
yes, more work to qualify
Review from Executive Dept
Amount of time it took them to get back to me. Setting proper expectations.
Review from Sales Dept
Internal politics with my team at HubSpot has reached a new height. I feel that I am unable to progress in my career with being clique
Review from Marketing Dept
Every day feels it can be he last day with restructure/lays off.
Review from Operations Dept
Management in MARS is chaotic. The Sr Managers and Directors have no management skills and were clearly placed because they've just been here enough time. They are kind people, they are terrible managers in terms of projects and dealing with their uppper managment requests
Review from Operations Dept
Unreal standards. No empathy from management. Managers not willing to do any work and it's somehow our fault when they fail at their job. Not to mention they're the hardest people to get ahold of. Don't tell us to reach out for support and then be MIA for 7 hours
Review from Sales Dept
Create an actual career pathing form for my team
Review from Operations Dept
Increaded compensation and actually taking action on employee feedback
Review from Customer Success Dept
opportunities and salary bands peak

Scale's hard so we can always do a better job of thinking global first
