Mr. Chen Zhang has been the Chief Technology Officer of JD.com, Inc. since November 16, 2015. Mr. Zhang served has been the Senior Vice President and Head of Research & Development for JD Mall at JD.com, Inc. since April 2, 2015 until November 18, 2015. At JD.com, Mr. Zhang oversees JD Mall's R&D staff, focusing on research that enhance the company's mobile applications, cloud computing and big data infrastructure. He has over 20 years of experience in software development and management. Prior to joining JD.com Inc., he served as the President of the Global Research and Development Centre of Yahoo Beijing. In this role he was responsible for the development of many of Yahoo's core global products, such as its science driven advertising and personalisation platforms and mobile and cloud platforms. He was an Executive at Yahoo! Inc. At Yahoo, he established and led its Beijing Global Research & Development Center. In this role, he specialized in research related to personalization, advertising, mobile and cloud computing technologies. During his 18 years at Yahoo, he held a number of other senior roles and led the development of the hugely successful Yahoo Messenger product. He has been a Non-Executive Director at Kingdee International Software Group Co. Ltd. since May 26, 2015. Mr. Zhang received a bachelor's degree in computer science from East China Normal University and a master's degree in computer science from Indiana University Bloomington in 1991.
