I enjoy going to work everyday. My teammates are smart and motivated. The company culture is based on being customer focused, having a sense of urgency, and acting like an owner. It helps us get things done efficiently and I like that. I also like that we are saving our customers $100 million a year
What did you like most about the interview process?
I like getting to meet so many of the cofounders during the process. It gave me a really good feel for the company origin and culture.
What makes you most happy at work?
Launching products and services which save our customers money makes me the most happy. I love innovating in big, important consumer services like insurance and loans and figuring out how to do things better.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
The leadership team shares a lot of information with the team, is humble, and has communicated a clear vision for the company that they have stuck with. They also focus on positive feedback. We have time for shoutouts in every weekly team meeting.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We have really high standards for hiring and we don't hire jerks. So everyone I work with is hard working, smart, and supportive. I also like the diversity on our team...with large teams on the east coast, west coast, and in Toronto and China.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I'd say the openness and supportiveness of the culture. That makes you want to put in the effort that's needed to grow as fast as we've been growing. I also like the balance between having a sense of urgency and doing quality work. It's a tough balance, but I think Jerry strikes a good balance.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
I think that by far the most valuable part of my benefits package will end up being my equity in the company. Beyond that, I like the flexibility I have to work from home or remotely if I decide I want to travel and work on the road. Finally, my work hours are also pretty flexible.
